What a great Northwest week-end, 80 degrees plus. We had some of the finest players all vying for their share of the winnings at the first “Tournament of Champions” at the Whistling Oyster.
The small turnout didn’t slow anybody down, with double elimination in both the winners and losers brackets. This was a first for Rick Gindt, while here running second twice in the early nineties at our Grand Masters Tournament held in August, now taking first place with partner Jim Tribble, both Washington players. Lot of three’s lagged to close most games. These guys never saw the losers bracket.
Running a strong second Frank Mako and Carl Rousch took it to all three games.
Third place went to veteran players Clark and Clara Kenney.
