NASA Block Party Honey Badger Tournament MVP Award
Bill Loos (Lincoln, NE) – Record High 21 Points
By Ross Gronau – at 8pm, Sunday, April 30th, we finished the 5th Annual NASA Block Party Tournament with 75 registered players. Joining the Norfolk locals were the usual suspects from Omaha, Lincoln, Blair, NE, as well as 4 friends from the Philadelphia area and 5 from Colorado. This year was our largest turnout and we discovered that 5 boards at the Norfolk Eagles Club, plus 3 at the Office Bar (8 total) will be minimum number of shuffleboard tables necessary to see this tournament grow. Next year, we will certainly be ready for a larger crowd.
To date, this was the strongest field of competition we have seen. With the guidance of our 0’s and -1’s from afar, our region’s young players have grown into something fierce and there were no easy matches to be found. It’s an exciting moment for our region and we greatly appreciate the support we’ve received to help make this event something special. We would like to thank the Norfolk Eagles Club and each and every one of you that made the journey out our way to be part of our scene. Your efforts are appreciated and all are welcome back any day you wish.
