The Steelville Country Club held its first leg of its BI-Annual ABC and Bring Partner shuffleboard tournaments on May 13 and 14th, 2011. The ABC event was held on Friday night with a total of 33 players (11 teams) participating. Taking Third place was Mark Polson, Shirley Cothran, and Donna Beasley. Second place went to Manny Lane, Larry Creakbaum, and John Derennaux. And First place went to John Boyer, Florence Hicks, and Curtis England.
The Bring Partner event was held on Saturday and consisted of of 12 teams. Taking Third place was Florence Hicks and Shirley Cothran. Second place went to Obie Pierce and John Burns. And First place went to Justin and Tyler Sparks.
I would to thank Kathy Anderson for contributing a total of $500.00 she raised from her sponsors to the tournament. $250.00 went to each of the ABC and Bring Partner events. Also, a special thanks to the Steelville Country Club staff for some great food and service all weekend.
